Description

Diesel's ideal home

Diesel is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children. He likes predictability and routine particularly around strangers and therefore needs to be introduced to new people following a successful ‘introduction training program’. Once he has built a bond, he is very affectionate with known people. He is not a dog that would cope with visiting busy towns, pubs, or cafes because of his fear of strangers. He has learnt to wear a muzzle for when out and about. Diesel loves his walks but equally is happy to be a couch-potato. He is housetrained and he is happy to be left alone. He loves trips in the car with the wind blowing through his hair. He is looking for a home without cats and small furries. He could potentially live with another dog following successful meets here at the rehoming centre. Diesel is looking for a home with a garden.

Could you be Diesel's perfect match?

Diesel is a fun four-year-old Alaskan Malamute who loves to run free in a nice secure field. He is motivated by food and loves positive reward-based training and learning new things. Diesel has a beautiful coat which will require some maintenance and pamper sessions. Diesel enjoys keeping cool, he struggles in the heat, and likes shady spots and dips in the stream. Diesel enjoys companionship with other dogs and has made many friends here at the rehoming centre on and off-lead.

Malamute Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Alaskan Malamute.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
