Description

Shadow's ideal home

Shadow needs a home free from other pets and where any children are of high school age. He is house trained and can be left alone for up to four hours without concern. Shadow has some pain in his spine and legs that he will require relief for.

Could you be Shadow's perfect match?

Poor Shadow can't seem to catch a break. After arriving as a stray a few years ago, he's been rehomed and returned three times, but never through any fault of his. He's an independent lad who doesn't mind spending time by himself and when having a fuss he will wander off when he's had enough! During the day at the centre, Shadow can usually be found relaxing calmly on his bed, or happily playing with his teddy bears. He's put on a lot of weight since his last stay with us, so we've got him on a diet and gentle but regular exercise routine to get him back into shape. He has some pain in his back and legs these days and the extra weight certainly won't be helping that. It doesn't stop Shadow from being a lively boy and friendly with it, he's happy to say hello to anyone and everyone. Shadow can be reactive around other dogs, and will bark at them from a distance but if you can distract him first, he will focus on you more than the dog. He has been known to bark through fences at neighbouring dogs.

Malamute Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Alaskan Malamute.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
