Description

Betty's ideal home

Betty is a loving four-year-old Alaskan Malamute. She is living off-site in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme. She has good history with children and could share her home with children as young as eight. She could potentially live with another dog in the home. She has no history of living with cats or small furries. She has met horses and ignored them; she may chase squirrels. Betty would happily settle in a quiet home or a busy home as long as she is not left alone. Experience of the breed, or research into the breed would be helpful. Betty is housetrained, she may need reminding using positive reward training in a new home. Betty enjoys travelling in the car. She will make a wonderful addition to a family (as long as you don’t mind a bit of fluff.)

Could you be Betty's perfect match?

Betty is friendly, well-rounded, and a big fluff ball of happiness! Betty loves to go out and about on walks, she loves the outdoors, and she settles down well in the home. She has been enjoying her time in a foster home she has been having three walks a day to keep up with her adventurous nature. She is a gentle plodder on her lead, and she likes to take the time to sniff all the smells. Betty likes to socialise with other dogs. She enjoys tasty, high-value treats and when the motivation is right, she knows a sit, wait, down, and recalls to her name. She greets people with excitement and enthusiasm and may jump-up, rewarding her for all four-paws on the floor can be continued. Betty enjoys playing with toys and she likes to have a game of fetch with you. She is an affectionate girl, adores a fuss and likes to snuggle up next to you on the sofa.

Malamute Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Alaskan Malamute.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
